A Pile of Grit
The piece was accompanied by a spoken word recording of the following poem:
the cold air caught in your chest,
one shallow brittle snap sounds under some kind of weight
eye guided to nowhere, only scree on scree
a pile of grit
a pile of grit
a pile of grit and you can taste metal in your mouth
a pile of grit
grey
layers
they could slide
a pile of grit
a pile of grit
a pile of grit with more behind
valleys
but brittle
staring
jolt inside but stand still and wait for another sound, something is aching and maybe it is cold you and cold stone too.
